Beyond the discount: make value legible

Asking for a discount does not define the quality of a client. It often signals uncertainty about budget, priorities or the difference between proposals. Precise communication helps both sides decide whether there is a fit.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

01

How do I speak to people who also assess quality?

Show the work through relevant examples, precise answers and readable terms. A curated portfolio and a clear journey do not guarantee the decision, but they give visitors criteria beyond the headline price.

02

Is a discount always a mistake?

No. It can make sense when the reason is explicit, such as a smaller scope or different conditions. It becomes risky when the same delivery is promised at a price that cannot support it, or when deadlines and availability exist only to create pressure.

03

How should I answer a request for a lower price?

Ask what constraint is driving it. If budget is the issue, you may reduce the scope or propose a separate first phase. If no sustainable configuration exists, a kind and reasoned answer protects both sides.

04

What if my market compares mostly on price?

Price may genuinely dominate in some categories. Before changing position, study how clients buy, which alternatives they compare and which risks they want to avoid. Specificity helps test a proposition; it does not replace market research.
